The GMAP dog shelter is located in a scenic and tourist area near Ras El Matin. This means that besides having wonderful weather year-round, you will be in a lush pine forest with a magnificent view of the mountains.
YOU CAN HIKE WITH OUR DOGS
Are you a dog lover in Lebanon that also happens to love the outdoors? Well, you’ll be happy to know that you can combine two of your passions in one by visiting the GMAP shelter! Within the pine forest, there is an abundance of hiking trails, scenic viewpoints, and amazing vistas that will captivate even the most avid outdoors person. You can walk our dogs on these trails as well as join us for our Saturday group hikes!
AT THE END OF OUR HIKES IS A BEAUTIFUL WATERFALL!
If you were already excited about the prospect of being surrounded by the beauty of Lebanese nature and rescue dogs, then we have even more exciting news for you! The final destination of every hike and walk at GMAP is the breathtaking waterfall at the heart of the forest!
SWIM WITH THE DOGS
Besides being beautiful to look at, this waterfall empties into a natural pool. You can enjoy a swim with the dogs on hotter days at the GMAP shelter. Just don’t forget your swimwear and sunscreen!
MEET OTHER ANIMAL AND DOG LOVERS IN LEBANON
Shelter days are perfect for making new animal and human friends! You will get to meet other dog lovers in Lebanon as well as our passionate volunteers, staff, and team. Hikes and special events can also be great opportunities to socialize!
