If you have ever visited the Give Me a Paw dog rescue in Lebanon or seen our dogs, you might have noticed one thing: All our dogs look extremely happy.

GMAP's Best Before and Afters: The Stories of a Dog Rescue in Lebanon

Did you know that this was not always the case?

Each GMAP dog has a very sad and horrific past, and it took a lot of effort and patience on the part of our team, staff, and volunteers, to transform them into the lovable and trusting dogs they are today!

Here, we will look at some of the most extreme yet rewarding transformations our team have personally witnessed in our dog rescue in Lebanon.

BLOOMY

One of our first rescues, Bloomy was found shot in her forearm and eye. Subsequently, she lost sight in that eye and one of her front legs was amputated.

After recovering at the GMAP dog rescue in Lebanon, she is now one of our most charismatic and loved residents! Her blind eye and three legs do not stop her from getting extra attention and stealing the spotlight!

BENJAMIN

Benjamin was found shot, and emaciated. Very anemic, he  was also diagnosed with serious skin diseases.

After being rescued by the GMAP Team, Benjamin made a full recovery and is now a much-loved resident at the GMAP dog rescue in Lebanon!

CANDY

Candy was found with blue dye poured all over her small and fragile body, severely irritating and burning her skin, and causing her fur to fall out.  The GMAP Team found her left alone on the streets.

Thanks to the efforts of the dedicated team, staff, and vets working for our dog rescue in Lebanon, Candy made a mind-blowing recovery and  is now happily adopted in the UK.

COOPER

He was hit with a sharp object on his head. This left an open wound filled with maggots and worms, eating him alive.

Now, he is one of the happiest and most energetic dogs at the GMAP dog rescue in Lebanon!

ENZO

Enzo  had been run over by vehicles, leaving him unable to move. As a  result, he was left dying of starvation, injuries,  and infections on the side of the road. His front paws had to be amputated.

Now, Enzo is happily adopted in his forever home in Canada!

INDIE

Indie was shot and left to die alone. She was found with gaping wounds and being eaten alive by maggots.

Her survival and recovery at the GMAP dog rescue in Lebanon were absolute miracles. She is now one of the calmest and most affectionate GMAP residents.

JOEY

Joey was found suffering from mange, flea and tick infestations, as well as severe anemia and three tick-borne diseases! Naturally, Joey had lost the will to live and was found curled up and hiding  in a construction site.

After his rescue and recovery, Joey transformed into a different dog! The sparkle returned to his eyes and he is now one of the liveliest GMAP dogs!

MURPHY

Murphy was found malnourished, exhausted, ignored, and afflicted with severe mange.

After the GMAP dog rescue in Lebanon helped him, he is now one of the happiest and most friendly GMAP dogs!

NITRO

Nitro was found shot in both arms and suffering under the boiling sun for more than 10 days in Tyre, South Lebanon. He had two open and infected fractures in his bones as well as severe flea and tick infestations, demodex, and anemia.

After an incredibly kind Lebanese family fostered him during his recovery, he is now happily adopted in Canada!

SAMURAI

Samurai was found shot in the eyes. As a result, he went completely blind in both eyes.

After recovering at the GMAP dog rescue in Lebanon, he is now happily adopted!

These transformations show that every dog should be given a chance. Here at GMAP, we firmly believe in this statement and we will continue to advocate for all animals no matter what.

To help us on this mission, and to directly be involved and contribute to one of these miraculous transformations, please consider purchasing any pet food, supplies, or goods that you need from GMAP’s very own Charity Shop. Every penny truly helps.
