Our Products: A Felicia Lebanon Review
As you might already know, Charity Shop is an ethical pet store in Lebanon that sells high-quality pet food and supplies at market prices, with 100% of its profits going to the Give Me A Paw shelter. In this article, we will review one of the premium brands of dog food that we sell at Charity Shop: Felicia Lebanon. This brand is considered one of the best in the country. How does Felicia measure up compared to other premium brands? Read on to find out.

How do we review our products for these articles?
We believe that the animals should be the decision-makers when it comes to their needs, so we have brought many of the GMAP team, staff, and volunteers together to assess the reactions of their own dogs as well as the GMAP dogs for each dog food brand we will review. We believe you and your pets only deserve the best, so we are committed to truthfully reviewing each product.

We rate each dog food brand (out of 5 stars) based on these metrics:
Taste
Nutritional composition
Ease of digestion
Coat condition
Brand claims and promises
Price

Let’s start with taste!
Taste: ★★★★✬
Both the GMAP dogs and our pets really enjoyed eating Felicia. Half a star was knocked off this category because there were other dog foods that excited them slightly more, but overall, our dogs loved the taste of Felicia!
So, Felicia Lebanon receives four and a half stars out of five for taste.

Nutritional Composition: ★★★★✬
This is where Felicia really stands out. According to their website, Felicia has a low-grain and hypoallergenic ingredient list. Grains are usually used as cheap fillers in commercial dog foods, but this greatly compromises the quality of the food, leading to malnutrition and potentially unpleasant side-effects for dogs. Less grain with Felicia’s dog food means more room for nutritionally dense ingredients, and less digestive upset, so it’s a win-win!

Dogs are also allergic to many common ingredients in commercial dog food, such as beef, dairy products, wheat, soy, potatoes, artificial sweeteners, colorants, chemical flavors, and GMOs. Felicia’s hypoallergenic formulas are great options since they are free of all these ingredients.

As an added bonus, Felicia includes exclusive natural supplements in its recipes which have been proven to greatly benefit pets. These include natural plant and animal extracts such as fish oils, carob, blueberry, yucca, psyllium, as well as marigold.

The only complaint one of our reviewers had about Felicia’s ingredients was that her dog is specifically allergic to chicken. Yet, Felicia does not have any foods in its line that are suitable for her, even though chicken is also a common ingredient that many dogs besides hers are allergic to.

For their excellent hypoallergenic, nutritionally dense, and natural compositions (yet lack of options for some specific allergies), we rate Felicia four and a half out of five stars in this department.
Ease of digestion: ★★★★✬
Learning about the wholesome ingredient list, it’s no surprise that Felicia Lebanon was readily digestible by our best friends!
In general, our dogs had less bloating, gas, indigestion, and unpleasant bathroom trips.
For digestibility, we rate Felicia four and a half out of five stars.

Coat condition: ★★★★☆
The amazing ingredients not only soothed our dogs’ digestive systems, but also affected the glossiness of their coats! Our dogs’ coats were healthy and shiny after a while of exclusively consuming Felicia.
Felicia receives four out of five stars for coat condition.

Brand claims and promises: ★★★☆☆
The following claims are from the Felicia website:

We have personally found most of these claims to be true. However, we question who the “specialists” are, because there is no reference or citation available for us to check. We are also wondering where the oddly specific percentages came from. How did Felicia calculate these? There is no information available on the site. We also cannot vouch for the “improvement in dynamic body structure” claim, since our dogs’ bodies looked about the same before and after a period of consumption.
For this category, Felicia receives three out of five stars.
Price: ★★★★☆
With an average price of $62.9 for a 15 kg bag of dry food, Felicia Lebanon is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive dog food in the country. This makes it a good option for Lebanese citizens who are willing to put in a bit extra for their canine companions, but not completely break the bank.

We think the price is generally worth the product, especially for the high quality premium and hypoallergenic ingredients. However, you should be aware that there are other comparable brands of premium dog food on the market that are slightly cheaper.
For that, Felicia gets four out of five stars in this category.
Final overall rating: ★★★★☆
Taking the mean of the above ratings, we arrive at approximately four stars out of five for Felicia Lebanon.
