In this article, we will review one of the premium brands of dog food that we sell at Charity Shop: Ownat Lebanon. This brand is known for its diverse ranges. How did Ownat taste to our dogs?

All our dogs loved Ownat, especially the grain free range!
There were also a few other brands our dogs liked just as much, so Ownat Lebanon receives four and a half stars out of five for taste.
Nutritional Composition: ★★★★☆
What makes Ownat so unique is how pet guardians can really streamline their choices to cater to their pet’s special and individual needs. With numerous ranges, and lines within those ranges, there really is something to suit every pet and their guardian’s budget! Ownat has special foods for allergies and intolerances, delicate joints, skin sensitivity, weight issues, high activity, sterilized animals, as well as digestive sensitivity. Now that’s a huge and inclusive variety!
At Charity Shop, we also sell the Ownat grain free range. What is truly special about this range is that besides being more nutritionally dense due to the absence of grain fillers, it is the type of dog food where you can successfully do an elimination test for allergies. This means that if your dog is allergic to an ingredient but you are unsure what the particular ingredient is, these recipes are simple enough that you can gradually try each one and test out how your dog reacts to each. If your dog has a bad reaction, then you know to avoid the featured ingredient in the future.
According to the Ownat website, most of their ingredients come from local (Spanish) fields and farms. Ownat’s Ultra range also utilizes a unique method of cooking at low temperatures that preserves nutrients which are usually lost in kibble when cooked at extremely high temperatures as other brands do.
For their inclusivity, diversity, fresh and nutritionally dense ingredients, their care when it comes to preserving nutritional value, and for offering pet parents an array of practical options to keep their pets healthy and happy, we rate Ownat Lebanon four out of five stars for nutritional composition.

Of course, the result of high-quality ingredients coupled with the ability to eliminate ones that don’t agree with each individual pet yielded amazing results! It also enabled us to deduce which ingredients and formulas were best for our dogs’ digestive systems through trial and error.
In short, with Ownat Lebanon, you are sure to find the ideal formula that agrees with your dog’s digestive system and leaves him/ her with comfortable elimination habits!
For the opportunity to select the perfect recipe for each and every dog, regardless of age, breed, weight, activity level, sensitivities, or health status, we give Ownat five out of five stars.

These farm-fresh and nutritious ingredients maintained the health of our dogs’ fur. By eliminating allergens, other coat problems like dandruff and hair fall were also curbed. Our dogs’ coats were glossy and shiny.

We cannot contest any of these claims, as we have found them all to be true. However, we would also love it if Ownat also disclosed their sustainable or eco-friendly processes and practices.

Price: ★★★✬☆
With Ownat, there is truly a suitable product for every budget! However, this does come with its own downsides. As a result of this compromise, the quality and nutritive value will vary between different ranges and lines.
The Ownat Lebanon products sold at Charity Shop are not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. For example, the 14kg grain free lamb dry food bag is priced at $78, while a 15 kg bag of the Ownat classic range with lamb & rice costs $55. As you can see, there is room for every budget, but it is a given that the grain free food will be nutritionally superior.
With all that being said, we think it is a fair deal, and most Ownat products are priced reasonably enough. However, you should be aware that there are other comparable brands of premium dog food on the market.
For that, Ownat gets three and a half out of five stars in this category.
